A shepherd’s hut

once sheltered sheep
now, cows stew tea, sing songs
pray for pelting rain to leave

Touch this cow bell

to your heart / pound
the herd-tribe stomp / thrum the bass
moo to a cloudless sky

A moon-bull lifts its horns

to the night sky
each cow in the herd echoes a reply
the playa provides

Under a half moon

hands of red dust reach skyward
the bar is ripped in half
eyes scrunch against wild wind
